APPLICATIONThe VIT-Smooth 33° Elbow Ø 125mm is designed for gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances operating at temperatures up to 600°C. Specifically made to serve as a connecting pipe between your appliance and the Flue Liner, Chimney Stack, or Twin Wall Flue System, it is not suitable for passing through ceilings or combustible walls.CONSTRUCTIONCrafted from zero-carbon steel, the VIT-Smooth 33° Elbow features a durable powder vitreous enamel coating with a sleek matt black finish. This single-skin connecting flue system offers both functionality and visual appeal, making it compatible with various appliance types and fuel sources.INSTALLATIONFor best results, ensure no part of the VIT-Smooth is installed within 375mm of combustible materials like wood or plasterboard. Always install with the smaller diameter pointing downwards to keep condensates within the system. While VIT-Smooth's friction-fit joints don’t require sealing, applying a jointing compound can add extra security. If cutting the pipe, be sure to cover any exposed steel with high-temperature paint to prevent rust. Remember to wear appropriate PPE throughout the installation process.MAINTENANCETo keep your chimney in prime condition, periodic inspections and cleanings are essential, especially for solid fuel applications. Installing VIT-Smooth sections with access doors at directional changes simplifies this process. We recommend an annual sweeping and maintenance schedule for chimneys serving solid fuel appliances.
