Adhering to Building Regulations Document J, it must be installed within a fully enclosed masonry chimney. The entire system must be designed for easy sweeping and maintenance by competent professionals, with chimneys serving solid fuel appliances recommended to be swept at least twice a year. Suitable maintenance tools and practices should be used to ensure longevity and safety.
