The Rain Cap - Ø 200 is a vital component in the MI-FLEX family of accessories, designed specifically for use with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. This high-quality rain cap provides excellent protection against rain ingress, ensuring your chimney stays dry and functional. The flue liner must be installed completely enclosed within a masonry chimney, in compliance with Building Regulations Document J. This ensures safety and efficiency. Suitable for use with appliances up to 600°C (T600 designation), this rain cap works flawlessly with wood (with less than 20% moisture), smokeless coal, gas, and oil. To prevent water and vermin from entering your chimney, this terminal is essential when your appliance lacks a condensate drain. Additionally, pot hanging cowls can support the vertical weight of the flue liner, provided the chimney’s structure is in good condition. Ensure your chimney pot is crack-free and the flaunching at the stack’s top is done correctly. Regular maintenance and sweeping by a competent person, preferably a HETAS registered sweep, is critical. Never use chemical cleaners or mild steel tools on stainless steel chimneys. For solid fuel systems, sweeping should happen at least twice yearly to prevent blockages and remove deposits, like bird nests, at the end of the heating season and before the next season begins.
