It ensures that the connection to the flex remains within the confines of your existing masonry chimney, ensuring no flex is visible. The use of fire cement, ceramic rope, or high-temperature sealant is advised for a gas-tight seal. For the best performance, the system must be easy to sweep and maintain, preferably by a HETAS registered sweep. Chemical cleaners or mild steel tools should never be used for cleaning stainless steel chimneys. Annual cleaning and inspection are recommended, with biannual sweeping for chimneys serving solid fuel appliances.
